Robi Records founder Martha Robi is the wife of the late Paul Robi, one of the Original members of the world famous singing group "The Platters". The Platters were one of the most famous vocal groups of the 1950s Doo Whoop era. There long list of hits include "Only You", "The Great Pretender", "Twilight Time", "The Magic Touch", "My Prayer", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "Enchanted", "Remember When", "I'm Sorry", and many more. Being married to Paul Robi, Mrs, Robi witness first hand, The Platters becoming a world wide phenomenon. The Platters broke through many racial barriers. They were the first black group to perform at the Vatican for the Pope, as well as in the Soviet Bloc. Their first number one hit "Only You" made them the first black singing group ever to have a Number One song on the Pop charts. Their hit "Twilight Time" was the first record of that era to feature strings. Robi Records is a rebirth of the music of The Platters. Following in her fathers footsteps, Franchesca Robi, the daughter of Paul Robi, is one of the featured artist of Robi Records.
